Highly developed Central European state with almost 1200 years of history. Originally a principality, later a kingdom, now a republic. The head of the country is the president, the legislative body is the Parliament of the Czech Republic, the executive power is represented by the government of the Czech Republic together with the president and state attorneys' offices. The country is among the 30 richest and 15 safest countries in the world, it is also the country with the lowest poverty rate in Europe. It has a mild climate with four seasons. A large part of the border consists of mountain ranges. The longest river is the Vltava (433 km). The windiest place is the Milesovka mountain in the Ceske stredohori, the coldest is the Snezka mountain in the Krkonose mountains, the most precipitation is in the Jizerske hory usually. Prague Castle, a UNESCO heritage site, is the largest castle complex in the world.
State symbols of the Czech Republic
According to the Constitution, the state symbols of the Czech Republic are the large and small state coat of arms, the state flag, the flag of the President of the Republic (presidential standard), the state colors, the state seal and the state anthem.
National, traditional symbols are the Czech crown jewels, attributes and relics of st. Vaclav (Wenceslas) and the national tree, the heart-shaped linden (Tilia cordata).
